Congratulations to you both! And thank you for letting us "share" with you in this way. You look so happy and beautiful/handsome in your Thai wedding wear. We wish you an easy life's journey, with all your dreams come true. Bring the video so we can reshare all this when we see you. I wanted to call the day before, but didn't have your hotel. So we, too, were thinking of you both to be there with our hearts across the miles. Luv .....

Just perused your wonderful photos and diary of the wedding day. You both look wonderfully happy - and there is no sign of the nerves and the upset tummies. Janna, you look so beautiful. And young Michael, you really look handsome and elegant in those Thai clothes. Many congratulations and much love to you both. Thank you for taking the time to do the diary and the photos so that we could share in your joy so soon after the event. What memories (fully documented!) you have to look back on. Can't wait to see you.

Hi Guys,
You are missing nothing in London except crap weather, pollution, rising crime, rip off prices, corruption, noisy neighbours.....you buggers.
By the way they have refurbished the Shakespeare Arms. It looks quite nice now but I haven't dare venture in there in case I get pinned down by George and his boxing stories (again!!!). However, they have opened up a Starbucks in Kew village along with Pizza Express - things can only get better.
Take care guys and let us know when you will be back in London.

I didn't spot this little button before. Just went to the Guest Book. I continue to be totally envious. I think I wrote last time that your pictures of the animals and birds and sunsets were amazing, and how South Africa had popped to the top of my list for "that special trip". And you are STILL THERE! It must be weeks and weeks. Hope your safari trip is safe and fun. You are certainly out of this mess at the right time - the mess we humans are making of what is supposed to be the "developed" world, that is. May as well spend your money as save it for retirement, that's for sure.
We are off to Vermont for a week next Saturday. A whole lot different from your safari venue, but hopefully still different and relaxing. Look forward to more updates later on.
Love from us - again, have a safe trip

Wow! This is a very emotional ride we are taking with you. Apart from the fact that you both look so different in your "traveller" guise from the city types we know and love, you are bound to be different people when you finish this world tour. I have to do this Africa trip that you have done. I am just overwhelmed by the wildlife pictures, particularly the big cats and the birde (unfortunate juxtaposition there!). How beautiful these AFrican scenes are.
Sorry we missed your birthday Michael. Sue was having a bit of a health scare in mid and late May and had a couple of days of hospitalization for tests. Nothing major wrong. Just a mix of excess acid, reflux, stress, nerves and anxiety, building up in that order! Got some pills, chilleed a bit and am feeling much better now. Still managed to pack in four concert performances since June 2nd.
Finishing up our backyard project this week. We have a whole new look. Too much money spent, but what the heck.
Will finish updating on your magnificent website later. Too much to take in all at one time.
Love from us here in "The Hub".

Of course it rained the whole day in Newport, Rhode Island, and the whole thing turned out not to be a tour of the big mansions but of some neighbourhood homes. So glad that the people who were interested in coming with us didn't in fact come. I would have been mortified at having goofed on the mansions and by the unwelcoming weather. We did see some very interesting homes, though, and the trip was in fact worth it. I certainly enjoyed that nice hot bath when we got home.
Because that Sunday rained off the second day of auditions at Quincy market, they are taking place this weekend. So decisions will be a week late. We did prety well though, and the crowd was all clapping along and singing a bit. They seemed to enjoy it.
We have had loads more rain this week. I have been out most evenings either at rehearsal or at meetings pallning and choreography and the scripts for the introductions at our concert coming up on June 2nd. We were doing our volunteering bit at the cat shelter this morning. It is a beautifully sunny day today. Frank is taking me to see the Boston Ballet version of Madame Butterfly tomorrow - it always works out well when he seizes the initiative and books something. Then he also booked a table for lunch somewhere very nice for Mother's Day. He has to pretend it is a gift from Katie the cat!
Your trip sounds wonderful. It is nice to stay with a family at times along the way - you really get much more of an authentic flavor of the place and people's lifestyle. I am envious - I have always so loved our trips to these places. So many have such happy memories. Haven't been to Sicily, but it has loads of interesting history. As for Venice, we had a wonderful week there with my London singing group in 1998. What a beautiful place. Take the ferry over to the Venice Lido and even on to Lido di Jessolo (where we stayed because it was cheaper). That ride is just magic.
That's it. Particularly enjoy Janna's travelogue pieces - such a unique writing style!
Take care and have fun.

Doesn't sound as though you are doing much relaxing. When you aren't rushing around doing stuff, you are typing great gobs of material into your journal. It is a great read - you can be the Paul Theroux people of 2002! Just think - you will be able to relive this trip over and over in the long and happy married years that lie ahead! Be careful and enjoy.
Last week it was 90 degrees plus here. Since then we have had two lots of sleet y rain, and it is snowing in Newton as I write! Should be back to the upper fifties tomorrow and Saturday. My quintet is auditioning at Quincy Market on Saturday afternoon. I guess if they like us we may get a regular spot in the summer. Frank and I are going to Newport, Rhode Island on Sunday for a day out and to look at the mansions. There is a tour of 5 of them plus the Art Museum that looks like fun. Will give you an update next week.
